Residential workshop for newly-appointed and aspiring lecturers

The GEES Subject Centre regrets to announce that the New and Aspiring Lecturers’ Workshop has been cancelled for 2008.  Unfortunately, recruitment for the New and Aspiring Lecturer’s workshop has been well below expectation this year. Feedback we are receiving from past delegates and some departments that would normally have sent new staff is that:

1. There has been significant reduction in the recruitment of new lecturers into some departments.
2. Some fieldwork conflicts with the date of this year’s NLW.
3. A number of our potential recruits are attending other international events.

We apologise for any inconvenience and welcome all new and recently appointed staff to our New and Aspiring Lecturers’ Workshop next year in May 2009.  Once the date for the 2009 event is confirmed, this web site will be updated.
