- Centres for Excellence in Teaching and Learning (CETLs)
- EDINA e-MapScholar is a major learning and teaching project run by EDINA whose aims are to develop tools and learning and teaching materials that enhance and support the use of geo-spatial data, including digital map data available from the EDINA Digimap service.
- Focusing Images for Learning & Teaching: an enriched resource (FILTER). The FILTER project seeks to provide information to the higher education community on the use of digital images to support learning and teaching.
- Geography Discipline Network (GDN). This Network works closely with The GEES Subject Centre to develop pedagogic resources for geography, earth and environmental sciences in higher education.
- HEFCE Improving Provision for Disabled Student Projects: Accessibility of online learning in specific subject areas. The aim of this project is to improve the accessibility of online learning in specific subject areas including Computer Science, Geography, Law and Medicine. In particular, to identify methods of supporting disabled students to enable them to achieve the pedagogical objectives of their modules through a learning environment.
- Developing an inclusive Curriculum for Disabled Students: The case of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. The project is designed to develop, disseminate and embed resources for supporting disabled students studying geography, earth and environmental sciences in higher education and to transfer the generic lessons widely to subject-based academics, educational developers, learning support staff and disability advisors.
- Science Signs: An online British Sign Language (BSL)/English glossary for Science Education. This project has developed science reference materials for British Sign Language (BSL)/English. Developing such reference materials not only benefits Deaf students and interpreters, but also provides an important base-line from which academic staff will be able better to evaluate their learning, teaching and assessment strategies in the context of supporting students with disabilities.
- HERODOT is the European Thematic Network of Geography Higher Education Departments. Its mission is to promote Geography and the professional development of academic staff.
