Good practice database
The Good Practice Database was originally set up by the Geography Discipline Network (GDN)* in 1997 to host case studies of interesting and effective practices in the teaching, learning and assessment of geography from international higher education departments. Since January 2000 the development and expansion of the resource has been funded by the GEES Subject Centre. Part of the expansion of the resource has been the inclusion of case studies from Earth and Environmental Sciences, as well as case studies from GDN publications (for example, 'Key Skills in Geography in Higher Education', 'Learning Support for Disabled Students Undertaking Fieldwork and Related Activities'). In order to rationalise the number of ways of searching for learning and teaching resources for Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences all good practice records can be found in the GEES Subject Centre Resource Database.
To continue to build on this resource you can contribute a good practice case study.
* The GDN was initially funded by the Employment Department/Department for Education & Employment under its Discipline Networks programme. The GDN was established at University College Northampton and ran for two year from 1994/5.
